Battle for the Dutch
Now most of the world is colored orange, with a few exceptions of green (you can travel) and yellow (beware, there are risks). With countries reopening, the battle for Dutch tourists has erupted in full fury. All destinations do everything to convince the Dutch traveler to visit their destination. From free PCR tests as a souvenir to Corona-free islands where all residents are vaccinated.
First vaccin before mid July

Thousands of Dutch are impatiently waiting for their vaccination to be able to go on holiday safely, but they are not scheduled yet. To give people a chance of being vaccinated before their scheduled moment, people now get a chance to get the vaccines that weren’t picked up at the doctors’ offices. A downside is that this concept is so popular that chances to get vaccinated this way remain very limited.
The Dutch government plans to give everyone their first vaccine before mid July. Of course, this is depending on the availability of vaccines. This could be of influence for the holiday plans for travelers under 50 as their second vaccine might be scheduled right in the middle of their summer holiday. Exciting times for healthy 50+ people as well. Part of them will be fully vaccinated in time for the summer holiday and another part will have to plan creatively.
In regards to a digital vaccination passport, the Dutch government informed that it will be ready in June. The government will use the CoronaCheck-app to create the passports. The app will register your vaccination status, which you can show at the border of other European countries to verify that people are vaccinated. This would mean that the vaccination passport is ready to use at the start of the summer holidays. The app will not be obligated and people can use a printed version of the vaccination passport as well.
